A pipe lets go behind a wall and suddenly there's water spreading across the floor. The first job is to stop it. How do I shut off my own water in an emergency?
Look for a valve where the main line enters the house, often in the garage, a utility closet, or near the water heater. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If you can't find it or it won't move, the meter at the street has a main shut-off you can turn with a meter key or wrench. Call us and we'll guide you through it.
Can you come out at night or on weekends?
