Get everyone out of the house and prop the door open. Don't flip light switches, light a match, or use the stove, since a spark can ignite gas. If the smell is strong, step well away before you call us or the gas utility. Once you're safe, call and we'll head over to shut it down and test the line.
Do I need a permit to add or replace a gas line?
Most new lines and full replacements need a permit in the Marina and Monterey County area, and that's a good thing because it means an inspection confirms the work is safe. Small repairs to an existing line often don't. We'll tell you which category your job falls in and handle the paperwork when it's required.
Can you run a line for a new gas range or tankless water heater?
